Americans Have Had It With Inflation 

Consummers are cutting back on spending as they contend with historically high inflation

Cutbacks in consumer spending threaten to weight on U.S. economic growth, which is flashing signs of slowdown. Many forcasters are increasingly fearful that the economy could fall into a recession under the weight of rising infliation and the Federal Reserve's attenpts to curb it through aggressive interest-rate hikes.
