매일 공부 Day 28:

오늘은 Prisoners of Geography, Chapter 7, The Middle East 에 관해 읽었네요. 

When the Ottoman Empire began to collapse, the Bitish and French had a different idea. In 1919, the British diplomat Colonel Sir Mark Sykes took a grease pencil and drew a crude line across a map of the Middle East. It ran from Haifa on the Mediterranean in what is now Israel ti Kirkuk(now in Iraq) in the northeast. it became the basis of his secret agreement with his French counterpart Francois Georges-picot to divide the region into two spheres of influence should the Triple Entente defeat the Ottoman Empire in the First World War. North of the line was to be under French control, south of it under British Hegemony.

The term Syke-picot has become shorthand for the various decisions made in the first third of the twentieth century, which betrayed promises given to tribal leaders and which partially explains the untest and extremism of today. 

결국 영국과 프랑스가 종교와 민족적 관계에 상관 없이 거어 놓은 국경에서 여러가지 대립이 발생된 거 같네요.

이번 article은 교육에 관한 기사입니다.

Covid-19으로 인해 미국 또한 학교들이 다 온라인으로 수업을 하고 있습니다. 온라인 수업으로 인한 많은 문제 점이 재기 되고 있지만, 이 기사는 온라인 교육이 어떤 학생들에겐 꽉 짜여 있는 스케줄에서 힘들고 지쳐 있던 학생들에게 스스로의 pace에 맞게 공부 할 수 있는 좋은 기회가되서 더 좋은 성과를 이루는 학생들도 많다는 기사 입니다.

저도 요즘 집에서 학생들은 가리치는 교사로서 동의 하는 점도 있습니다. 하지만, 제가 느낀 점은 교실 안에서 열심히 하던 학생들이 온라인 수업도 더 열심히 잘 따라 오고, 과제도 날짜에 맞게 잘 제출합니다.
